Synthesis and Characterization of Sulfonated Polydioxolane

A series of sulfonated polydioxolane were prepared from dioxolane using cis 2-butene-1, 4-diol and BF₃ · O(C₂H₅)₂ as monofer and initiator and characterized by FT-IR, ¹H NMR, GPC and elemental analysis. A simple method is described for seperation of highly ionized polyether from the products of the addition reaction.
