Synthesis of R-Thiazolidine-2-Thione-4-Carboxylic Esters

The methyl-,ethyl-,n-propyl-,i-propyl and n-butyl esters of R-thiazolidine-2-thione-4-carboxyic acid were prepared in 72%~98.6% yields by reaction of R-thiazolidine-2-thione-4-carboxylic acid with corresponding alcohols in the presence of SOCl₂.
