Synthesis and Characterization of 2,6-Bis-(1'-Phenyl-3'-Methyl-5'-Oxo-4'-Formylpyrazol) Pyridine and Its Rare Earth Complexes

A novel ligand 2,6-bis (1'-phenyl-3'-methyl-5'-oxo-4'-formylpyrazol) pyridine (H₂L) and its complexes have been prepared by reacting H₂L with rare earth nitrate in ethyl alcohol solution. The complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, thermoanal-ysis,molar conductivity,IR,UV,¹H NMR and fluorescence spectra measurements.
