Synthesis of Bis(N-Phenyl-3-Carbazolyl)-Toluene Iodide

The title Electrophotographic sensitizer was synthesized in 4 steps. Its structure has been confirmed by IR, ¹H NMR, fluorescence spectroscopy, elemental analysis and UV-Vis spectrometry. The dye showed a high sensitivity for poly-N-vinylcarbazole in electrophotography.
