A Study on Extraction of Gold by Liquid Surfactant Membranes

Various factors that influence Au ³⁺ extraction are studied. These factors include composition of the oil membranes and reactant in the internal phase, separating conditions and de-emulsification method. Experimental results show that liquid surfactant membranes are suitable for extraction of gold from its solution of very low concentration (~2 × 10^-6g/L). The extraction efficiency can reach 99% and even more.
