Synthesis of 2-Afoylamino-5-(1-phenyl-2-hydroxyanisethyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazoles

Thirteen title compounds (2) were obtained by nucleophilic addition of benzyl car-banion of 2-aroylamino-5-benzyl-1,3,4-thiadiazoles (1) with anisaldehyde in EtONa/EtOH solution.The structures of the compounds 2 were confirmed by elemental analysis,IR,¹H NMR,and MS.The compounds were found to have some fungicidal activity.
