Preparation of Epoxidized Vegetable Oils

Some vegetable oils were epoxidized at 60℃ for 6 hours under pressure of 0.15MPa and at the feed ratio(by weight) of oil:H₂O₂(50%):HCOOH(85%):H₂SO₄ (98%)=100:50:9:2 The epoxide numbers of the epoxidized soy bean oil,sunflower oil,as well as corn oil were 6.2%~6.6% and 6.O%~6.4%,respectively. The iodine numbers of the epoxidized oils were less than 3mg/g.
