Synthesis of Halogenated Toluenes and Its Liquid Phase Oxidation with Co(OAc)₂-Mn(OAc)₂-NaBr

Fluorotoluene and halogenated 3-fluorotoluenes have been synthesized and oxidized by Co(OAc)₂-Mn(OAc)₂-NaBr system to the corresponding carboxylic acids in liquid phase with good yields. All the compounds are characterized by UV, IR, ¹H NMR, MS spectrometry and elemental analysis.
