A catalyst for V-butyrolactone production by liquid phase dehydrocyclization of 1,4-butanediol was prepared from Cu(NO₃)₂ and Zn(NO₃)₂ (exact in 1:1 mole ratio) by precipitation method. It showed a good catalytic activity for given reduction at 186~204℃ through H₂ reaction at 240℃. The results of XRD, IR and DTA showed that the precursor has the same component and structure, as Aurichalcite.
