The title complex was prepared by the reaction of (t-BuCp)₂ YCl in THF with ether solution of CH₃Li at -78℃. The complex was characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The complex [(t-BuCp)₂YCH₃]₂ was used as a catalyst for polymerization of MMA and the influence of polymerization conditions on its catalytic activity was investigated.
