The thermograms of four kinds of bacteria: Escherichia coli,Shigella flexmeri serotype 6,Shigella flexmeri serotype x,and Shigella flexmeri serotype y in decoction of cop-tis were recorded by microcalorimetric method.The growth rate constants and generation times of the bacteria were calculated.The critical dosage of coptis decoction for restraining the growth of the bacteria have been obtained.
