The strong-acid type ion-exchange resin supported trasition metal (Co²⁺,Cu²⁺,Ni²⁺) catalysts were prepared. The effects of the amount of the catalyst, solvent, and temperature on the addition reaction of alcohols on the alkene ethers have been investigated.
