STRUCTURE AND PROPERTY OF PPC/NBR ELASTOMERS

A blend elastomer has been prepared from hydroxyl-terminated polypropylene carbonate (PPC) and nitrile-butadiene rubber(NBR) in the presence of dicumyl peroxide and 2-mercaptobenzimidazole. The dynamic mechanical analysis and TEM photos showed that the PPC/NBR blend has two-phase structure. Its tensile strength and elongation at break were greatly increased. The oil resistance and heat stability of PPC/NBR elastomers are as good as pure NBR elastomer,
