Microwave-assisted synthesis of a novel cyclometalated iridium(Ⅲ) quinoxaline complex with the formula Ir(DPQ)₃(DPQ=2,3-diphenylquinoxaline) was performed via the reaction of DPQ and iridium trichloride hydrate.The complex was characterized by elemental analysis,¹H NMR and mass spectrometry.The complex shows strong ¹MLCT(singlet metal to ligand charge-transfer) absorption at 387 and ³MLCT(triplet metal to ligand charge-transfer) absorption at 458 nm,respectively.The complex also shows strong photoluminescence at 634 nm at room temperature.These results suggest that the complex is a promising phosphorescent material.
