Property of Electroless Nickel Plating on Expanded Graphite

Electroless plating of nickel was used to plate nickel on expanded graphite surface.The plated expanded graphite was characterized by SEM,EDS,X-ray Diffraction,IR,vibrating sample magnetometer.The results indicate that an even layer of nickel was plated on expanded graphite.Ni accounted for 94.12% and P accounted for 5.88%.The reflectivity was increased in the near infrared region.The magnetism capability was enhanced.The magnetization and the retentivity were 26.3 A·m²/kg and 8.1 A·m²/kg respectively.The σ_r/σ_s was 0.31.The obtained material belongs to soft magnetism material.
