OXIDATION OF STYRENE IN THE PRESENCE OF CLUSTERS OF TUNGSTEN AND MOLYBDENUM

The catalytic activities of two catalysts, (W₃O₂(CH₃COO)₆(H₂O)₃) Br·2H₂O and (W₂MoO₂(CH₃COO)₆(H₂O)₃)Er·2H₂O in the oxidation of styrene have been studied. The results showed that these two clusters have better catalytic properties than those given by Irclco(pph₃)₂ and Rhcl(pph₃)₂. The catalysts can be used repeatly without change in their structure and activities.
