SYNTHESIS OF CYCLOPENTADIENYL ALLYL COMPLEXES OF NEODYMIUM

A solution of Cp₂NdCl-LiCl-THF was prepared successfully and conveniently. The solution can be used to synthesize bis(cyclopentadienyl) organolanthanoid derivatives. Cp₂NdC₃H₅ was prepared from Cp₂NdCl-LiCl-THF solution and C₃H₅Li(1:1)at -78℃.CpNd(C₃H₅)2·THF and Li[CpNd(C₃H₅)₃]·2Dioxan were prepared from[Li(THF)₂]₂ (μ-Cl)₄CpNd.THF and C₃H₅Li(1:2 and 1:3 respectively). The new compounds were characterized by elementalanalysis, GC, MS and IR. The spectra of all three compounds show a band characteristic of η³-allyl moieties.
