PREPARATION AND CATALYTIC PROPERTIES OF POLYMER-BOUND TETRARUTHENIUM CLUSTER: DODECACARBONYLTETRAHYDROTETRARUTHENIUM

Synthesized H₄Ru₄(CO)₁₂ and H₄Ru₄(CO)₁₀(PPh₃)₂ in this laboratory were anchored on the modified polymer supports:P-Ph-CH₂PPh₂, SiO₂Ph-CH₂PPh₂, P-Ph-CH₂N(Et)P(NEt₂)₂. They were used as catalysts for the hydrogenation and isomerization of 1-hexene. The effects of the reaction conditions, i.e.variety of solvents, reaction time,crosslinking density of the organic supports,the polymer ligands used and the ligand/metal ratio of the catalysts on the catalytic properties of the cluster were investigated.
