SYNTHESIS OF 1,2-BIS(2,4,6-TRIBROMO-3-METHYL PHENOXY) ETHANE

A new compound l,2-bis(2,4,6-tribromo-3-methylphenoxy) ethane was synthesized from m-cresol in an autoclave.Methanol and Na₂CO₃ were used as solvent and base respectively.The yield was 79%.
