SYNTHESIS AND PROPERTY OF Eu³⁺ ION ACTIVATED SrO-BaO-SiO₂ PHOSPHORS

(Sr,Ba)SiO₃: Eu³⁺ was synthesized at high temperature using SrCO₃,BaCO₃, H₂SiO₃, Li₂CO₃ and Eu₂(C₂O₄)₃ of A.R.grade. The optical synthesis conditions were achieved through orthogonal design, i.e. 1150℃ and 3 hr. The products with constitution of (Sr_0.8Ba_0.2)_0.95Eu_0.025Li_0.025SiO₃ or Sr_0.95Eu_0.025Li_0.25SiO₃ show the greatest intensity of illumination. The property of the product has been studied by means of x-ray powder diffraction, laser fluorescence and illuminant spectroscopy.
