Synthesis of Transition Metal Complexes of (o-Vanillylidene) aspartic Acid

Four Schiff base complexes: NaCuL·1/2H₂O, NaZnL·3H₂O, Na₂CoL(Ac)·2H₂O, Na₂NiLCl·3H₂O(H₃L=L-aspartic acid-o-vanillylidene Schiff base) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, thermal analysis, electronic spectrum and infrared spectrum measurements. The possible structures of the complexes have been discussed.
