Synthesis and Characterization of Meso-Tetrakis (4-pyridyl)porphyrin Derivatives

Four cationic meso-tetrakis(4-N-pyridyl)porphyrin derivatives 5,10,15,20 tetra kis (4-N-benzylpyridyl)porphyrin(H₂TBPyP), 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-N-propylpyridyl)porphyrin(H₂TPPyP), 5,10,15,20 tetrakis(4-N-ethylpyridyl)porphyrin(H₂TEPyP), 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-N-methylpyridyl)porphyrin(H₂TMPyP), and their cobalt complexes have been synthesized. Some of the porphyrin compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time of flight-mass spectrometry(MALDI-TOF-MS), UV-Vis, FTIR, ¹H NMR and cyclic voltammetry.
