Humidity Sensing Characteristics of Doped Poly(propargyl alcohol) and Poly(propargyl acetate)

Poly(propargyl alcohol)(POHP) and poly(propargyl acetate)(PPAT) were prepared by using palladium acetylide catalysts [Pd(C-CCH₂OR)₂(PPh₃)₂] (R=H,OC₂H₅) and doped with FeCl₃ or H₂SO₄ as humidity sensing materials. The doped polymers were found to have good humidity sensitivity as the impedance variation covered about two orders of magnitute (10⁴~10⁶Ω) at RH% ranged from 11% to 96%. The effects of polymer structures on the humidity sensing behavior were compared.
