Synthesis and Characterization of Polycarboxylic Hydrazone Rare Earth Complexes

The synthesis of a ligand, T-oxo pentanedioic acid-2,4-dinitrobenzene hydrazone(H₂LPN), and its five rare earth (La,Pr,Nd,Eu and Gd) complexes are reported. The complexes are characterized by element analysis, IR, UV and ¹H NMR spectra, thermal analysis. Besides, the relaxivity of Gd³⁺ complex was determined by INVREC.Au program, using inversion recovery pulse sequences.
