Electrochemical Behavior of Doped LiM_xMn₂O₄(M=La,Nd,Y) Synthesized Under Microwave Action

The doped LiM_xMn₂O₄(M=La,Nd,Y) was synthesized from gel precursor on heating in microwave oven. The precursor was obtained from Li₂CO₃ and Mn(NO₃)₂ in mixture of citric acid and ethandiol. XRD data indicated the higher phase purity of the sample as compared with that obtained in muffle heating. Charge and discharge experiments revealed that doped LiM_0.006 Mn₂O₄ have better electrochemical behavior than those undoped ones and obtained from muffle heating. Doping of La, Nd and Y increased the specific discharge capacity and charge/discharge performance of the cells.
