Effects of ⁶⁰Co-γ Irradiation on N,N'-Methylenebisacrylamide

The effects of ⁶⁰Co-γ irradiation on N,N'-methylenebisacrylamide were studied. The fragments having double bond under irradiation were measured. Effects of radiation on the structure of the solid N,N'-methylenebisacrylamide and its aqueous solution had been discussed. Experiment results show that N,N'-MBAA is easily polymerized at relative high temperature, so that radiation-induced crosslinking of PVA in the presence of irradiated N,N'-MBAA should be carried out at room temperature.
