A novel method for synthesis of p-phenylphenol from phenol and cyclohexanone by acidic catalytic condensation at 60~70℃ and dehydrogenation in phenol under N₂ in the presence of catalyst(5% Pd/C/MgO) is reported. The product was obtained in the yield of over 90% based on cyclohexanone.
