Synthesis and Biological Activity of N,N'-Nitrobenzoyl Substituted-benzoylthiosemicarbazides

Twentyone N,N'-nitrobenzoyl substituted benzoylthiosemicarbazides were synthesized by addition reaction of nitrophenyl isothiocyanates with aroyl hydrazines and their structures were characterized by ¹H NMR, ¹³C NMR, IR and elemental analysis. The biological tests indicated that these compounds had antibacterial activity against B.subtilis, but no action on E.coli.
