Synthesis and Characterization of Polyether ketone ether ketone ketones Containing Naphthalene Ring

Polyether ketone ether ketone ketones containing naphthalene ring were synthesized by low temperature solution polycondensation of 4,4'-bis(T-naphthoxy)benzophenone(DNBP), terephthaloyl chloride(TPC) and isophthaloyl chloride(IPC) in 1,2-dichloroethane and in the presence of AlCl₃ and NMP. The polymers obtained were characterized by IR, DSC, TG, and WAXD methods. The results show that the polymers are non crystalline, soluble in NMP, DMF, and 1,2-dichloroethane(DCE), and have high glass transition temperature and good heat resistance.
