Synthesis of 4-Aryloxyacetamido(propionamido)benzenesulfonamides and Their Herbicidal Activity

A series of 4-aryloxyacetamido(propionamido) benzenesulfonamides were synthesized by condensation reaction of aryloxyacetic(propionic) acids with 4-aminobenzenesulfonamides. The products were characterized by ¹H NMR, IR, elemental analyses and MS. Most of the compounds have good herbicidal activities.
