Anatase TiO2 nanotubes were prepared from tetrabutyl titanate (Ti(OC4H9)4) using porous alumina as a template.The nanotubes exhibited uniform diameter,but rough walls and consisted of small crystals.They manifest high photocatalytic activity in the degradation of sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate (SDBS) with bubbling air.About 30% SDBS was degraded under 20 min irradiation.UV-vis spectra and the structure identification revealed that the TiO2 nanotubes have greater energy gap,less possibility for the combination of electron-hole pairs,to give stronger redox ability and higher photocatalytic activity than TiO2 film.
