Synthesis, Characterization and Antibacterial Activities of 5-Bromosalicylaldehyde thiodiocylhydrazone and Its Cu(Ⅱ) Complex

Salicylaldehyde thiodiacylhydrazone(STZ), 5-bromosalicylaldehyde thiodiacyl hydrazone(BSTZ) and their Cu(Ⅱ) complexes:STZ(Cu)₂ and BSTZ(Cu)₂ were synthesized. The structures of the ligands and complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, ¹H NMR and UV spectroscopy. The bacteriostatic test showed that the ligands were more bioactive than the complexes.
