Synthetic Improvement of Dimethythiotoluene diamine

The synthetic method of dimethythiotoluene diamine(DMTDA) has been modified by a in one-pot method from diamin toluene and dimethyldisulfide using zinc iodide as catalyst and dimethyl benzene as inert solvent. Loss of dimethyldisulfide is avoided during the processing, and high purity DMTDA was obtained by acid washing. The structure of DMTDA is characterized by ¹H NMR, ¹³C NMR and IR.
