Synthesis and Fungicidal Activities of 2-Alkylamino-3-aryl-5-benzyl-1-imidazolin-4-ones

The carbodiimides 4,obtained by aza Wittig reaction of iminophosphorane 3 with aromatic isocyanates, were reacted with primary alkylamines to give seven title imidazolinones 6a~6g. The structures of the compounds were confirmed by elemental analysis, IR and ¹H NMR. The cyclizing reaction of imidazolinones has a certain selectivity. The bioassay tests in vitro revealed 6e showed 71% and 65% inhibitory effect on botrytis cinerea and rhizoctonia solani, respectively.
