A Facile Synthetic Method of Dibenzofuran and Its Derivatives

By heating diazo salt of corresponding ortho-amine of diphenyl ether in the presence of a mass fraction of 50% sulfuric acid, eight dibenzofuran and its derivatives (2a~2h, R=H,2-Cl,2-Br,2-Me, 2-Bu-t,2-OMe,3-OMe,4-Me) were synthesized in yields of 65%~70% and their structures were characterized by MS, HRMS, ¹H NMR, ¹³CNMR, and elemental analysis. The conditions of the reaction were investigated, the optimum temperature of the reaction was 135℃. A possible mechanism was proposed.
