Synthesis of Naphthylporphyrin-Anthraquinones

A kind of novel naphthylporphyrin-anthraquinone compound and its copper complex were synthesized from 5-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-10,15,20-trinaphthyl-porphyrin and characterized by ¹H NMR, IR, FAB-MS, elemental analysis and UV-Vis spectrometry. The results show that the absorption spectra of these compounds are bathochromic by 5~10 nm in comparison with tetraphenylporphyrin and the absorption wavelength of compound Ⅰ is bathochromic with increase of the solvent polarity. Fluorescence quenching occurrs due to the intramolecular photoinduced electron transfer in the naphthylporphyrin-anthraquinone molecule with quenching percentage up to 22%.
