Biodegradable Poly(hexylene-sebacate)-co-(hexylene-adipate) with high intrinsic viscosity was synthesized by one-pot polycondensation of sebacic acid and adipic acid with 1,6-hexylenediol in a yield of 96%. The chemical structure of the copolymer was characterized by FTIR and ¹H NMR. The DSC result shows that the melting point and crystallization temperature of the copolymer decreased with the increase in HA content, and both exhibit the minimum values while x(HA) reachs 60%. It was also found by TG that PHA in the copolymer was easier decomposed, but no effect on the thermal decomposition of PHSe was observed on the copolymerization.
