The metallofullerenes were synthesized by the arc-discharging method with GdNi₂ alloy as the metal source.LDI-TOF mass spectrometry was used to characterize the toluene extracts and high temperature high pressure pyridine extracts.When x(Gd):x(C)=1:50,I=90 A,U=25 V,He pressure was 40 kPa and the gap between the anode and cathode was 8 mm,metallofullerene was obtained in a yield of 2.54%.
