Synthesis and Optical Properties of 4-Methoxy-N-(2-N',N'Dimethylaminoethyl)Naphthalimide Allyl Chloride Quaternary Ammonium Salt

A water soluble fluorescent monomer,4-methoxy-N-(2-N',N'-dimethylaminoethyl) naphthalimide allyl chloride quaternary ammonium salt was synthesized from 4-bromo-1,8-naphthalic anhydride and 2-dimethylaminoethylamine.The optimum reaction conditions were obtained by experiments.The structure of the product was characterized by IR,¹H NMR,MS and elementary analysis.The optical properties of the product,such as ultraviolet-visible spectrum and fluorescent spectrum were determined and studied.
