Condensations of 4-methylbenzoyl hydrazine(1) with aromatic aldehydes produced corresponding hydrazones(2a~2k).Cyclization of hydrazones 2a~2k with propanoic anhydide gave the title compounds 3a~3k in good yields of 70%~84%.Their structures were confirmed by means of elemental analysis,IR,¹H NMR and MS spectrometry.
