The electrode modified by multilayer films of polyoxometalate (POM) K₁₇[Ce(P₂Mo₁₇O₆₁)₂]and polyelectrolyte by means of layer-by-layer assembly was prepared and investigated.The stable multilayer films were assembled by alternate adsorption of negatively charged POM and positively charged polyelectrolyte from their aqueous dispersions.The proposed novel electrode exhibited a good electrocatalytic oxidation on I^- anions in solution.Based on this,flow injection amperometry was proposed for the determination of iodide.By the flow injection amperometry (FIA),there existed a good linear relationship between the concentration of iodide and the response current in a range of 1×10^-5 mol/L and 1×10^-3 mol/L,and the detection limit was 5×10^-5 mol/L.The method has been successfully applied to the determination of iodide in dry edible seaweed.The concentrations of iodide measured by this method are in good agreement with those obtained by spectrophotometric method.
