Ternary compounds Cu_0.8Ag_1.2S and Cu_0.5Ag_1.5Se with high crystallinity were prepared at room temperature in ethylenediamine solution.The procedure included the reduction of Ag₂O and Cu₂O by polyformaldehyde,followed by reaction of fresh-produced Ag,Cu with S or Se.The products were characterized with X-ray powder diffraction patterns,transmission electron microscope images and X-ray photoelectron spectra.A possible formation mechanism was proposed.
