A New 1D Ladder-Like Cadmium(Ⅱ) Coordination Polymer Based on 4-(1H-Imidazol-1-yl)benzoate and Chloro Ligands：Crystal Structure and Luminescence

The self-assembly of 4-(1H-Imidazol-1-yl)benzoic acid and CdCl₂ under hydrothermal condition gave a new 1D cadmium coordination polymer, [Cd(imbz)(Cl)(H₂O)]_n (1) (imbz=4-(1H-Imidazol-1-yl)benzoate), which has been characterized by elemental analysis, IR, TGA and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The imbz ligands link the Cd(Ⅱ) ions to form an infinite 1D zigzag chain, which the neighboring zigzag chains are further connected into a ladder chain through μ₂-Cl ligands. The photoluminescence and lifetime of complex 1 in the solid state at room temperature have been studied. CCDC: 890931.
