Synthesis of Three Novel Poly (aryl ether quinoxaline) s

Novel poly(aryl ether quinoxaline) s(PEQs) were prepared via a new two-step procedure. First,poly(ether benzil)(PEB) was synthesized by the polycondensation of 4,4'-difluorobenzil and 4,4'isopropylidenediphenol. Then,PEQ-1 was synthesized through chemical modification of PEB by 1,2diaminobenzene. The mass average relative molecular mass of the PEQs could be adjusted easily as 7.492 × 10⁴ and 1.486 × 10⁵ by the addition of 1.0% and 1.3% mass fraction of 4,4'-oxydibenzene-1,2-diamine,respectively. The total yield of this two-step method is above 90%. The polymers were characterized by IR,NMR and other measurements. The method is simple and has a potential application value.
