Fe³⁺ was extracted from Fe(NO₃)₃ by liquid phase extraction using a mixture of bi-(2-ethylhexyl) phosphate(P₂₀₄) and tetrachloride carbon.Fe(OH)₃ powders were prepared through stripping precipitation method with ammonia-alcohol aqueous solution as a re-extractant and precipitator.α-Fe₂O₃ powders were obtained by decomposing Fe(OH)₃ at an appropriate temperature and characterized by TEM,FTIR,and XRD.The results show that the P₂₀₄ contents are in the oil phase,Fe³⁺ contents are in the water phase,and the reaction time has obvious influence on the extraction of Fe³⁺.Under the optimum conditions of phase volume ratio at 1:1,c(Fe³⁺) at 0.10 mol/L(pH=3.0),volume ratio of P₂₀₄ and CCl₄ as 1:3,and reaction time of 20 min,98.44% of Fe³⁺ is extracted.α-Fe₂O₃ powders with a small size and uniformity are obtained at 600℃.The optimum aging temperature and concentration of ammonia aqueous are 10.0℃ and 1:7,respectively.
