Metal-biomolecule frameworks (MBioFs) are a recently-identified class of porous polymeric materials,consisting of metal ions linked together by biomolecules as organic bridging ligands,and are emerging as a new interdiscipline based on molecular coordination chemistry and biomaterials science. Nucleobases,the key constituents of nucleic acids,have accessible nitrogen and oxygen electron lone pairs, which allows these molecules to act as multidentate organic ligands. In this paper,a series of metalbiomolecule frameworks was successfully synthesized with different nucleobases via a solvothermal system. These MBioFs exhibit brilliant micro-structures which are distinct with each other and dependent on the nucleobase linkers consisting in the frameworks for their different coordination properties. In addition,they are able to adsorb and release organic molecules repeatedly,and can be regarded as the sorbent to treat waste water.
