Author Bio: Yu Lan was born in Changchun, China, in 1981. He completed his Ph.D. in 2008 at Peking University under the supervision of Professor Yun-Dong Wu. From 2009 to 2012, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, Los Angeles with Professor K. N. Houk. He then joined the faculty of Chongqing University. In 2016, he received the "Chinese Chemical Society Award for Outstanding Young Chemist". His current research interest focuses on the mechanism and selectivity study of organocatalysis with DFT calculations
Xiaohua Liu received her B.S. in 2000 from Hubei Normal University and her M.S. in 2003 and Ph.D. in 2006 from Sichuan University. She joined the faculty of Prof. XiaoMing Feng's group at Sichuan University, where she was appointed a professor in 2010. She was awarded the national science fund for distinguished young scholars (in 2016) and the State Natural Science Award (2nd class in 2012). Her current research interests include asymmetric catalysis of chiral guanidines and organic synthesis
