Abstract:
Constructed mainly via Friedel-Crafts alkylation reaction, hypercrosslinked polymers (HCPs) possess significant advantages, such as easy to synthesize, porous, non-toxic, structurally stable and lightly weighted. This paper briefly describes the general reaction conditions and mechanism of the conversion. Meanwhile, the synthesis strategy of some HCP materials and their diverse applications in gas adsorption/separation, water-treatment, catalysis, and sensing etc. are also be displayed here. Additionally, we point out the further combination between Friedel-Crafts alkylation reaction and HCPs in the future.

In the engineering inorganic chemistry course, the contents of structure of matter are very important. Because of the characteristics of structure of matter, such as high abstraction and logic, teaching this section becomes difficult in this course. This article makes an investigation on the differences in teaching contents between high school chemistry and engineering inorganic chemistry. Furthermore, some effective teaching methods including model-assisting teaching, employment of multimedia, history of discipline teaching and inquiry teaching have been explored in this article, which will be beneficial to the promotion of teaching effect of the related contents.

Abstract:
This paper introduces the practice of physical chemistry laboratory teaching mode reform based on the Learning Pyramid in Northeast Forestry University. By using"students preview on the online experiment video","students lectured the experiment to other students","student group discussion before operation" and "students group summary discussion after operation", a more effective laboratory teaching mode of "student-centered" is established. The teaching practice proves that it is an effective route to cultivate the comprehensive quality and the independent innovation ability of students.

First, 8-hydroxyquinoline(HQ) was synthesized by the Skraup method, which involves basic skills of organic chemistry experiment such as reflux heating, steam distillation, crystallization and recrystallization. Secondly, the synthesized 8-hydroxyquinoline was used to prepare AlQ3 in which Al content was measured by back titration. Finally, infrared spectra, hydrogen nuclear magnetic resonance spectra, UV-Vis absorption spectra and fluorescence emission spectra of 8-hydroxyquinoline as well as AlQ3 were measured. This experiment covers synthesis, characterization and performance testing, facilitating students to understand and complete a basic research process.

Abstract:
A research-oriented comprehensive experiment, "fabrication, characterization and photocatalytic performance of N,F-codoped TiO2 nanotubes", was performed in Summer Research Training Program of Nankai University. Hydrogen titanate nanotubes prepared by hydrothermal method were impregnated by titanium sol containing NH4F to fabricate N,F-codoped TiO2 nanotubes (N,F/TiO2 NTs). The prepared catalysts were characterized by TEM, XRD, TG-DTA, XPS and UV-Vis DRS. By using methyl orange solution as simulated wastewater, the photocatalytic activities of the prepared materials under UV light and simulated sunlight were monitored. Through this comprehensive experiment related to research frontier, the students can obtain basic research training and their scientific literacy can be improved.

Abstract:
A sensitive method based on the sodium dodecyl sulfate-stabilized silver nanoparticles (SDS-AgNPs) for detection of levofloxacin was reported. Levofloxacin could rapidly induce the aggregation of SDS-AgNPs, thereby resulting in a yellow-to-red color change. The color change could be monitored by naked eye and UV-Vis spectrophotometry. The presented method is convenient, simple, cost-effective and suitable for comprehensive laboratory teaching to develop students' innovation and scientific research ability.
