A new chiral liquid crystal[4'-(2-chloro-4-methyl-pentanoyloxy)]-phenyl 2-cyano-3-(4'-a-heptanoxypkenyl)propenoate (CMPPCHPP) was synthesized.The compound was characterized by IR,¹HNMR,clemental analysis.The liquid crystalline phase transition was studled by optical polarized micrography.The title liquid crystal compound end induce cholenteric pitch in nematic LC (B7902),the pitch in 12 μm at 283K.
