Synthesis and Characterization of Poly(ether ether ketone ether ketone)

4,4'-Bis(fluorobenzoyl)diphenyl ether was prepared and polycondensed with hydroquinone to give a PEEKEK. The polymer has been characterized by IR, DSC, TGA and WAXD methods. It has the same crystal structure as PEEK and also a good thermal stability. The T_g, T_m and thermal decomposition temperatures(weight loss=5%) were found to be 134℃, 315℃ and 510℃, respectively.
